Liver Cirrhosis
Now Enrolling

Liver cirrhosis is a serious and progressive condition that occurs when healthy liver tissue is replaced by scar tissue, leading to severe complications and, in many cases, life-threatening outcomes. Because the liver plays a vital role in filtering toxins, producing essential proteins, and supporting overall health, damage to it should never be ignored. Liver disease is not only severe—it is a condition that demands attention, awareness, and timely medical care. Everyone should take liver health seriously, be concerned about risk factors, and seek proper evaluation and treatment when needed.

Early Stages of Liver Cirrhosis

Liver cirrhosis does not develop overnight—it often begins with earlier stages of liver disease that gradually worsen over time. Conditions such as fatty liver (NAFLD, NASH, or MASH) can cause inflammation and damage to the liver. Over time, this ongoing injury can lead to fibrosis, where scar tissue starts replacing healthy tissue. If left untreated, fibrosis can progress into cirrhosis, a much more severe and often irreversible stage of liver damage.

That is why it is important to study not only patients with confirmed cirrhosis but also those who may have earlier forms of liver disease. By enrolling volunteers at different stages—from fatty liver to advanced scarring, we can better understand how the disease develops and work toward more effective treatments.
